AMA/AAFP Equivalency – American Academy of Family Physicians This live activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 15 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to the AMA PRA category 1 credit toward the AMA Physicians Recognition Award. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
American Medical Association – AMA AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award.
The College of Family Physicians of Canada – Mainpro-M1 The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) is the accrediting body for family medicine continuing medical education (CME) in the United States of America.

CFPC members who complete any live CME/CPD program accredited by the AAFP for Prescribed credit can claim the equivalent number of Mainpro-M1 credits.

Canadian Healthcare professionals in other specialties need to verify with their licensing board the reciprocal credit agreement with the AAFP.

American Osteopathic Association – AOA CME activities approved for AAFP credit are recognized by the AOA as equivalent to AOA Category 2 credit.
American Academy of Physician Assistants – AAPA AAPA accepts Category 1 CME approval from the AAFP.
American Association of Nurse Practitioners – AANP AAFP Prescribed Credits are accepted by the AANP.
American Nurses Credentialing Center – ANCC According to the ANCC, the continuing education hours approved by the AAFP meet the ANCC-accredited CNE criteria.

Tuition Discount

Receive a $50 discount if you are a past MCE Conferences attendee, or for two or more healthcare professionals attending together. Receive a $100 discount if you are a past conference attendee AND if you are registering for the conference with another healthcare professional.

Tuition Cancellation Policy without Protection:

• Cancellation made within 7 days of registration: The full tuition fee will be refunded minus a 10% processing fee for all credit card transactions. This cancellation policy is not applicable to registrations made 21 days before the conference date.

• Cancellation made up and until 15 days before the conference date: Full tuition fee minus a 10% processing charge will be applied towards a future MCE Conference.

• Cancellations made within 14 days before the conference date: No refunds or credits will be issued. The full tuition fee will be forfeited.

Tuition Cancellation Protection - $50 per tuition registration:

• Tuition cancellation protection: Allows attendees to cancel up to 15 days before the conference date and receive a full refund.

• Cancellations made within 14 days of the conference date: The full tuition amount will be applied towards a future MCE conference.

Women's Health for Primary Care

This conference is designed to provide Primary Care practitioners with up-to-date, evidence-based information on commonly encountered issues in Women's Health, while suggesting pragmatic approaches to clinical management. The discussion-based format of the conference will encourage audience participation through dynamic lectures, case-based studies, and hands-on workshops. Keynote speakers will present and critically assess recent advancements and industry updates in Women's Health for Primary Care, with the goal of enhancing the knowledge base and core competence of attendees. The successful completion of this interactive program should improve attendees’ confidence in diagnosing, treating, and prescribing the most effective courses of treatment, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes.

Management of Menopausal Symptoms
Objectives: 1) Review the diagnosis of menopause 2) Discuss the management of vasomotor instability 3) Prepare a treatment regimen for women with atrophic vaginitis 4) State the risks and benefits of treatment with estrogen containing compounds

Breast Disease/Cancer Screening
Objectives: 1) Educate patients on when to seek medical attention for abnormalities indicated by a palpable breast lump or mass 2) Appraise current clinical practice guidelines and recommendations on screening mammograms and MRI for breast cancer 3) Discuss recommendation and benefit of screening for BRCA mutations in clinical practice

Contraception – Beyond Pills, Condoms, and Sterilization
Objectives: 1) Describe principles of patient selection regarding contraceptives 2) Discuss the indications/contraindications for various contraceptive methods 3) Appraise recommendations for use of long-acting reversible contraceptives 4) State the options and indications regarding methods of emergency contraception

Gynecologic Malignancies: Screening, Treatment, and Prevention
Objectives: 1) Discuss what is known about risk factors for common malignancies 2) Council patients on primary prevention of gynecologic malignancies 3) Recommend methods of screening for gynecologic cancer in women according to current clinical guidelines and coordinate referral as necessary

Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding – Old Problem, New Terminology
Objectives: 1) State the ICD-10 (2011 International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) Nomenclature for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding 2) Clarify the appropriate diagnostic strategies for evaluating abnormal bleeding 3) Assess training needs for procedures used to evaluate and treat abnormal uterine bleeding 4) Formulate treatment plans for women with abnormal uterine bleeding

Female Sexual Function: What’s She to Do Now That He Has Viagra? And So Much More… 

Objectives: 1) A discussion of the common sexual concerns of female patients at all ages, including reduced libido, vaginal dryness, and painful intercourse 2) Discussion of the complex nature of female sexual function 3) Discussion of lab testing and medications 4) Understanding when it is a change in function vs. dysfunction

Pelvic Prolapse, Incontinence, and Pelvic Pain
Objectives: 1) Review the staging and diagnosis of pelvic prolapse and the different types of incontinence 2) Review non-surgical treatment options, including pessaries and pelvic physical therapy 3) Review the work-up for a patient with pelvic pain, acute and chronic 4) Discuss the most common causes of pelvic pain and how to treat them (endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, ovarian cysts)
