Objectives: 1) Recognize and interpret signs and symptoms of heart failure exacerbation, assess fluid status, and optimize medication therapy according to current guidelines, such as ACE-I, ARBs, ARNis, SGLT2i, beta-blockers, and aldosterone antagonists 2) Define the pathophysiology of heart failure, including mechanisms of myocardial dysfunction, neurohormonal activation, and compensatory responses 3) Formulate individualized treatment plans aimed at improving symptoms, reducing hospitalizations, and optimizing long-term outcomes

Coronary Artery Disease
Objectives: 1) Review the pathophysiology, risk factors, and natural history of CAD 2) Apply evidence-based management strategies aimed at reducing mortality and preventing disease progression 3) Select appropriate pharmacological therapies for the management of CAD 4) Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to patients’ clinical profiles and risk factors

Concussion Update
Objectives: 1) Recall the etiology, pathophysiology, and signs & symptoms of concussion 2) Utilize concussion assessment tools to assess and manage concussion 3) Determine medical clearance and return to learn and play recommendations 4) Consider when and how to interpret neuropsychological testing 5) Define second impact syndrome and its complications and significance

Diabetes and Heart Disease
Objectives: 1) Describe the pathophysiological mechanisms by which diabetes contributes to the development and progression of cardiovascular disease, including the roles of hyperglycemia, endothelial dysfunction, and chronic inflammation 2) Review current guidelines and evidence-based practices for the treatment of cardiovascular disease in diabetic patients, including the use of antidiabetic agents with cardiovascular benefits, such as SGLT-2 inhibitors and GLP-1 agonists, antihypertensive therapies, and lipid-lowering treatments

Assessment of Patients Presenting with Chest Pain
Objectives: 1) Conduct a comprehensive assessment of patients presenting with chest pain, including a focused medical history and physical examination 2) Utilize appropriate diagnostic tests, such as EKG, CXR, echo and laboratory 3) Identify potential life-threatening causes of chest pain, such as acute coronary syndrome, myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, and aortic dissection 4) Develop a systematic approach to differentiate between benign and urgent etiologies through critical analysis of clinical findings and diagnostic results

Patient-Specific Cases
Objectives: 1) Categorize heart failure severity, create personalized treatment plans, and implement monitoring strategies to optimize outcomes and prevent readmissions 2) Evaluate blood pressure, assess cardiovascular risk factors, and develop management strategies to achieve target BP and reduce complication risks for stroke or heart disease 3) Assess CAD severity through clinical evaluation and testing, then develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve long-term outcomes 4) Assess the interplay between diabetes and cardiovascular health, develop a treatment plan that optimizes blood sugar control while also addressing cardiovascular risk factors, and implement strategies to prevent adverse cardiovascular outcome in diabetic patients
