This online live stream CME will be broadcasting from one of our in-person CME destinations. This program will be acceptable for up to 12 Prescribed credits by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the American Academy of Family Physicians. This program is accredited as a live activity. Recordings of the event will be provided to all registered attendees at the conclusion of the course.

This online live stream is designed to provide primary care clinicians with up-to-date, evidence-based information on commonly encountered issues in Primary Care Update: Internal Medicine, Office Orthopedics and Sports Medicine while suggesting pragmatic approaches to clinical management.

The online learning format will encourage audience participation through dynamic lectures, and case-based studies. Keynote speakers will present and critically assess recent advancements and industry updates in Primary Care, with the goal of enhancing the knowledge-base and core competence of attendees. Objectives: 1) Appreciate the role of screening TSH and what to do with the results 2) Develop a reasonable and cost-effective approach to diagnosing the thyroid nodule 3) Discuss the management of hypothyroidism

Practical Approach to the Patient with Headache
Objectives: 1) Review the differential diagnosis of a patient presenting with a headache complaint 2) Confidently evaluate the patient with a headache and appreciate the indications for imaging 3) Develop a treatment plan that considers lifestyle changes, as well as, medication

Practical Approach to the Patient with Hyperlipidemia

Objectives: 1) Obtain an appropriate medical history to better identify those patients at risk 2) More confidently evaluate and assess the patient suspected of having DVT 3) Better manage patients with the confirmed diagnosis of DVT

Back to Basics: The Diagnosis and Management of Low Back Pain
Objectives: 1) Describe the basic anatomy of the lumbar region 2) Assess low back pain with a systematic history and physical exam 3) Develop treatment plans for the most common causes of low back pain 4) Identify indications on when to refer low back pain for subspecialty care

The Evaluation and Care of Common Shoulder Problems – Part 1 and 2
Objectives: 1) Describe the basic anatomy and function of the shoulder joint 2) Explain the associated physical exam findings for common shoulder problems 3) Develop treatment plans for common shoulder problems 4) Identify indications on when to refer shoulder problems for subspecialty care

The Evaluation and Care of Common Knee Problems – Part 1 and 2
Objectives: 1) Describe the basic anatomy and function of the knee joint 2) Explain the associated physical exam findings for common knee problems 3) Develop treatment plans for common knee problems 4) Identify indications on when to refer knee problems for subspecialty care

Practical Tips on the Evaluation and Management of Concussions
Objectives: 1) Recall the etiology, pathophysiology, and signs and symptoms of concussion 2) Identify risk factors that help prognosticate a greater risk of concussion symptoms lasting greater than one month 3) Utilize concussion assessment tools to assess and manage concussion 4) Determine return to learn/work and return to play recommendations

Evaluation and Care of Common Ankle and Foot Problems
Objectives: 1) Review ankle and foot anatomy — function and exam 2) Diagnose common ankle and foot problems — overuse, degenerative, and traumatic 3) Describe common treatments for these problems

Challenges in the Diagnosis of Upper Extremity Radicular Pain and Tingling
Objectives: 1) Describe the basic anatomy of the cervical spine and brachial plexus 2) Assess upper extremity pain and tingling with a systematic history and physical exam 3) Select physical examination and imaging tests to assist in establishing possible diagnoses, including thoracic outlet syndrome and cervical radiculopathy 4) Identify indications on when to refer these upper extremity symptoms for subspecialty care
