Skin Cancer Updates
Objectives: 1) Distinguish the most common types of skin cancers from other skin lesions 2) Compare biopsy techniques used in diagnostic evaluation of skin cancer 3) Identify methods for treating skin cancers 4) Discuss the value of dermoscopy for diagnosing skin cancer

Topical and Injectable Steroids
Objectives: 1) Distinguish between the different vehicles and when to use one vehicle over another 2) Discuss the choice of steroid potency 3) Describe when steroid injections are valuable

Fungal Infections
Objectives: 1) Identify the most common cutaneous fungal infections 2) Determine when topical therapy is preferred to systemic therapy, and conversely 3) Delineate differential diagnosis for cutaneous fungal infection

Acne Objectives: 1) Understand the etiology of acne vulgaris 2) Utilize appropriate criteria to diagnose acne as mild, moderate, or severe 3) Formulate treatment plans for acne, and modify therapies as necessary, to minimize adverse side and maximize benefit

Objectives: 1) Recognize classic manifestations of psoriasis 2) Recognize atypical forms of psoriasis 3) Implement appropriate interventions for psoriasis based upon disease severity

Hair Disorders
Objectives: 1) Recognize patterns of hair loss, facilitating correct diagnosis 2) Understand role of laboratory testing in cases of hair loss 3) Choose proper therapeutic intervention for various causes of hair loss

Nail Disorders
Objectives: 1) Recognize patterns of nail dystrophy, allowing proper diagnosis 2) Utilize laboratory testing efficiently in cases of nail dystrophy 3) Select optimum therapy for nail disorders

Benign Skin Neoplasms
Objectives: 1) Identify common presentations of select benign skin lesions 2) Associate, where appropriate, benign skin tumors with underlying genetic syndromes 3) Employ proper methods of reducing or eliminating common benign skin tumors

Cutaneous Signs of Internal Malignancy

AMA/AAFP Equivalency – American Academy of Family Physicians

This live activity is being reviewed and will be acceptable for up to 12 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to the AMA PRA category 1 credit toward the AMA Physicians Recognition Award. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The College of Family Physicians of Canada – Mainpro-M1

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) is the accrediting body for family medicine continuing medical education (CME) in the United States of America. CFPC members who complete any live CME/CPD program accredited by the AAFP for Prescribed credit can claim the equivalent number of Mainpro-M1 credits. Canadian Healthcare professionals in other specialties need to verify with their licensing board the reciprocal credit agreement with the AAFP.


American Osteopathic Association – AOA

CME activities approved for AAFP credit are recognized by the AOA as equivalent to AOA Category 2 credit.

AAPA accepts Category 1 CME approval from the AAFP.

  • Cancellation made 31 days or more prior to arrival: A full refund will be issued.
