Routine Adult Care

Improving Compliance
Objectives: 1) Use techniques that can better detect noncompliance in their patients 2) Apply techniques that can be used to increase compliance in their patients

Anemia
Objectives: 1) Develop a diagnostic strategy to ascertain the etiology of the anemia 2) Utilize the guidelines for diagnosing anemia in children and adults in terms of available testing 3) Develop a clinical approach to treating various anemias to include Iron Deficiency and “Anemia of Chronic Disease” due to infections, inflammatory dz’s, CKD, Malignancies, Cytokines, Interferons, TNF’s, etc. 4) Describe the role of consultants in the evaluation and management of anemia

Thyroid Disease
Objectives: 1) Formulate a plan for the evaluation of a patient with presumed thyroid disease 2) Interpret common lab and imaging tests in the evaluation of a patient with thyroid disease 3) Select appropriate treatment modalities, both medical and surgical, for patients with thyroid disease according to the American Thyroid Association Guidelines

There is a Fungus Among Us: Fungal and Yeast Infections of the Skin
Objectives: 1) Distinguish cutaneous fungal and yeast infections from other infections of the skin 2) Understand the potential comorbidities associated with cutaneous fungal and yeast infections 3) Determine the most appropriate treatment option for each patient

Rosacea and Disorders of the Hair Follicle
Objectives: 1) Identify the common skin conditions arising from the follicular structure 2) Demonstrate the ability to distinguish between the different causes of folliculitis 3) Construct an appropriate treatment plan for different follicular disorders 4) Discuss the pathophysiology and treatment of rosacea

How to Approach the Patient with Alopecia
Objectives: 1) Classify the different types of hair loss based on their presentation 2) Construct a diagnostic workup plan for patients who present with hair loss 3) Formulate a treatment plan for the more common types of hair loss – alopecia areata and androgenetic alopecia

Leg Ulcers and Principles of Wound Management
Objectives: 1) Differentiate between the different types of leg ulcers 2) Become familiar with the diagnostic tools available for workup of a leg ulcer 3) Educate patients on risk factors and preventative measures for leg ulcers 4) Compare the different treatment options, including standard vs. advanced care options

Warts, Molluscum and Other Viral Infections of the Skin

Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education – ACCME

MCE Conferences is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

American Academy of Family Physicians – AAFP

This live activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 12 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. The College of Family Physicians of Canada – Mainpro-M1

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) is the accrediting body for family medicine continuing medical education (CME) in the United States of America. CFPC members who complete any live CME/CPD program accredited by the AAFP for Prescribed credit can claim the equivalent number of Mainpro-M1 credits. Canadian Healthcare professionals in other specialties need to verify with their licensing board the reciprocal credit agreement with the AAFP.

American Osteopathic Association – AOA

CME activities approved for AAFP credit are recognized by the AOA as equivalent to AOA Category 2 credit.

American Academy of Physician Assistants – AAPA

AAPA accepts Category 1 CME approval from the AAFP.

American Association of Nurse Practitioners – AANP

AAFP Prescribed Credits are accepted by the AANP.

American Nurses Credentialing Center – ANCC

According to the ANCC, the continuing education hours approved by the AAFP meet the ANCC-accredited CNE criteria.

Pharmacology Credits

This course is being  reviewed and will be acceptable for up to 12 CE credits; please verify with your Medical Board which hours may be applied toward Pharmacology credit.

Additional Lodging Information – Guest room rates are quoted as single or double occupancy.

Taxes: The Group Room Rates are subject to applicable sales and resort taxes, currently 12½%. There will be no mandatory resort or other fee levied on the sleeping rooms in addition to the Group Room Rate plus applicable taxes (unless required by law).

The charge for additional guests beyond double occupancy is $35.00 plus applicable tax per guest per night for adults 18 years and older..

Maximum room occupancy is (5) guests.

Hotel Parking – Standard overnight self-parking is available to registered Guests for a fee that will be applied to their hotel folio upon check-out. All parking fees include applicable tax and are subject to change.

Current Self-rarking rates are $25 per night. Current Valet parking rates are also available for $33 per night.

Complimentary Self-parking will be provided during the hours of the meeting for all local and offsite MCE Attendees.

Lodging Deposit – A Deposit of 1 Night + Tax is due at the time of booking. Balance is due to the resort upon arrival.

Lodging Cancellations – Terms and conditions as per MCE’s room allotment agreement with conference lodging venue:

  • Cancellation made 31 days or more prior to arrival: A full refund will be issued.
  • Cancellation 30 days or less prior to arrival: No refunds will be issued.
  • No-shows and early departures are considered a cancellation: No refunds will be issued.

All lodging cancellations must be made directly with the lodging venue. Please refer to your lodging confirmation for contact information and policies.

Register & Book Your Lodging Early! The MCE reduced room rates will be available to registered attendees up until June 8, 2020 (based on availability). Our allotment for reduced room rates may sell out before this date. We urge you to secure your lodging reservation as early as possible. Reduced rates will also be offered 3 nights pre and post program dates (based on availability).
