Eczema and Psoriasis
Objectives: 1) Recognize classic eczema and psoriasis morphology as well as more unusual presentations 2) Differentiate atopic dermatitis from other eczema subtypes 3) Review basic management for flares and maintenance, therapeutic ladder for difficult cases 4) Understand risk of co-morbidities and when to refer to dermatology

Skin Infections
Objectives: 1) Review morphology and diagnosis of common viral, bacterial, and fungal and parasitic skin infections 2) Discuss management pearls for common infections (tinea, herpes, staph and others)

Objectives: 1) Review common causes of hair loss, appropriate investigations and treatment 2) Review common nail problems 3) Recognize and manage common problems of irregular pigmentation 4) Manage hyperhidrosis

An Algorithmic Approach to the Patient with a Rash

AMA/AAFP Equivalency – American Academy of Family Physicians

This live activity is being reviewed and will be acceptable for up to 12 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to the AMA PRA category 1 credit toward the AMA Physicians Recognition Award. The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) is the accrediting body for family medicine continuing medical education (CME) in the United States of America. CFPC members who complete any live CME/CPD program accredited by the AAFP for Prescribed credit can claim the equivalent number of Mainpro-M1 credits. Canadian Healthcare professionals in other specialties need to verify with their licensing board the reciprocal credit agreement with the AAFP.

 

American Osteopathic Association – AOA

CME activities approved for AAFP credit are recognized by the AOA as equivalent to AOA Category 2 credit.

American Academy of Physician Assistants – AAPA

AAPA accepts Category 1 CME approval from the AAFP.

American Association of Nurse Practitioners – AANP

AAFP Prescribed Credits are accepted by the AANP.

American Nurses Credentialing Center – ANCC

According to the ANCC, the continuing education hours approved by the AAFP meet the ANCC-accredited CNE criteria.

Pharmacology Credits

Resort Fee and Amenities – A reduced resort charge of $25.00 for MCE Conferences Guests will be added to each room. Services covered in the Resort Services Fee include: Wi-Fi (high-speed internet), Overnight Parking, Two Bottles of Water Daily Full Access to the Fitness Room, Steam Rooms, and Saunas in Ascent Spa, Access to the Resort Pools and Spas, Business Center Access, Toll-Free and Local Telephone Calls, Newspaper Available Daily in the Lobby, Rollaways.
Parking – Parking is included in the resort fee.

Lodging Deposit – All reservations require payment of the first night rate (including tax) as a deposit.

Lodging Cancellations – Terms and conditions as per MCE’s room allotment agreement with conference lodging venue:

  • Cancellation made 31 days or more prior to arrival: A full refund will be issued.
  • Cancellation 30 days or less prior to arrival: No refunds will be issued.
  • No-shows and early departures are considered a cancellation: No refunds will be issued.

Our allotment for reduced room rates may sell out before this date. We urge you to secure your lodging reservation as early as possible. Public Transportation:

-FROM FRESNO OR YOSEMITE VALLEY (SUMMER ONLY) During the summer months, YARTS, the Yosemite Area Rapid Transit System, has regular bus service between Tenaya Lodge and Fresno Airport, as well as other destinations along the way.. They also offer service between Tenaya Lodge and destinations in Wawona and Yosemite Valley. Please see the YARTS website for a complete schedule of the Fresno to Yosemite route.

-FROM SAN FRANCISCO OR OAKLAND AIRPORTS (SUMMER ONLY) Both San Francisco and Oakland Airports are served by the BART commuter train. Take BART for either airport to the Coliseum station in Oakland. See the BART website for details.Transfer to Amtrak. Depending on schedules, you can either take Amtrak by train to Merced and from there by bus to Yosemite Valley. From Yosemite Valley you can take the YARTS bus to Tenaya Lodge. Alternatively, you can take Amtrak to Fresno and transfer to YARTS in Fresno.
