This online live stream CME will be broadcasting from one of our in-person CME destinations. This program will be acceptable for up to 12 Prescribed credits by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the American Academy of Family Physicians. This program is accredited as a live activity. Recordings of the event will be provided to all registered attendees at the conclusion of the course.

This online live stream is designed to provide primary care clinicians with up-to-date, evidence-based information on commonly encountered issues in Pediatrics for Primary Care: Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, and Psychiatry, while suggesting pragmatic approaches to clinical management.

The online learning format will encourage audience participation through dynamic lectures, and case-based studies. Keynote speakers will present and critically assess recent advancements and industry updates in Primary Care, with the goal of enhancing the knowledge-base and core competence of attendees. Objectives: 1) Review practical treatment tips for treating atopic dermatitis in kids 2) Discuss the safe use of topical corticosteroids 3) Debate the use of antihistamines in the management of atopic dermatitis

ADHD: An Update on Evaluation and Management
Objectives: 1) Review the prevalence, DSM V diagnoses, and comorbidity of ADHD in children and adolescents 2) Utilize rating scales and clinical history as a way of assessing ADHD clinically and analyzing information received from patient, family, and schools 3) Review the treatment of ADHD, including psychopharmacology and psychotherapy

Depression in the Child and Adolescent
Objectives: 1) Review prevalence, screening, and diagnosis of depression in children and adolescents 2) Outline the guidelines for treatment of depression using psychopharmacology and psychotherapy 3) Discuss the appropriate situations for referral to a psychiatrist 4) Summarize findings that require urgent intervention

Anxiety Disorders in Childhood and Adolescence
Objectives: 1) Review the prevalence and various types of the anxiety disorders in childhood, including generalized anxiety, separation, panic, school refusal, and OCD 2) Utilize scales as a way of adding to the assessment 3) Review the treatment of anxiety, including psychopharmacology and psychotherapy

The Evaluation of the Adolescent with Suicidal Ideation or Non-Suicidal Self Injury
Objectives: 1) Review prevalence of suicidal ideation and suicide attempts in children and adolescents 2) Outline the risk factors and warning signs for suicide 3) Describe the evaluation of a suicidal adolescent 4) Discuss the various treatment options, including inpatient hospitalization and outpatient options

Visual Diagnosis
Objectives: 1) Demonstrate the ability to identify diagnoses in children by simple visual inspection 2) Discriminate among common pediatric diagnoses by asking appropriate historical questions 3) Appreciate the importance of pattern recognition in establishing a diagnosis

Does My Patient Need Surgery?
Objectives: 1) Make rapid management decisions based on children presenting signs and symptoms suggestive of a surgical emergency 2) Select appropriate diagnostic studies in the evaluation of children with surgical emergencies 3) Avoid activities that will result in a delayed diagnosis for children with surgical emergencies

Thinking Better: Medical Decision-Making at the Bedside
Objectives: 1) Recognize that relying on pattern recognition, memory, and making snap judgments may lead to diagnostic errors 2) Understand the cognitive errors that physicians make most frequently 3) Develop an approach to medical decision-making that will help avoid diagnostic error

Objectives: 1) Manage children who have sustained concussions and discuss Return to Play and Return to Learn guidelines 2) Apply decision rules in the management of children with head injury, including those guiding the ordering of a head CT 3) Utilize imaging studies appropriately in the evaluation of children with head injury

The Eyes Have It
Objectives: 1) Understand eye anatomy and the key steps in a thorough eye examination 2) Summarize which clinical conditions may be identified by each step in the eye examination 3) Treat eye pathology resulting from infection or trauma and understand when to refer a child to an ophthalmologist 4) Recognize the clinical differences between periorbital cellulitis and orbital cellulitis

Infants Behaving Badly
Objectives: 1) Develop a thorough differential diagnosis for ill-appearing infants 2) Summarize the key management strategies in actual cases of ill-appearing infants 3) Select appropriate diagnostic studies in the evaluation and management of infants with interesting and uncommon diagnoses
