This conference is designed to provide primary care clinicians with up-to-date, evidence-based information on commonly encountered issues in Infectious Diseases, Office Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, while suggesting pragmatic approaches to clinical management. The discussion-based format of the conference will encourage audience participation through dynamic lectures, case-based studies, and hands-on workshops. Community-Acquired Respiratory Infections in Adults with an Emphasis on Pneumonia
Objectives: 1) Recognize when to prescribe antibiotics for adults with respiratory infections 2) Become familiar with risk assessment and treatment algorithms for community-acquired pneumonia in adults 3) Become familiar with non-culture diagnostic tests for pneumonia and when to use them  

Infectious Gastroenteritis Syndromes and Foodborne Illnesses
Objectives: 1) Learn the epidemiology of gastroenteritis in adults 2) Learn the differential diagnosis, evaluation, and management of infectious diarrhea in adults 3) Be able to counsel patients about foodborne illnesses and how to prevent them 

Urinary Tract Infections
Objectives: 1) Learn to use diagnostic algorithms and diagnose different urinary tract infection syndromes 2) Become familiar with management guidelines for UTI and asymptomatic bacteriuria 3) Review evaluation and management of challenging UTI cases and UTI with community and healthcare-associated multidrug–resistant organisms  

HIV Update for Primary Care Providers
Objectives: 1) Review the current epidemiology of HIV infection in the US 2) Review HIV prevention recommendations for PCPs, including pre-exposure prophylaxis 3) Understand HIV test results and their interpretation 4) Become familiar with antiretroviral therapy drugs and drug interactions relevant to the PCP 

Viral Hepatitis A-E with an Emphasis on C
Objectives: 1) Review acute and chronic viral hepatitis syndromes and when to screen for them 2) Be able to interpret laboratory testing for hepatitis B and hepatitis C 3) Review recent advances and challenges in treatment of chronic hepatitis B and C

Objectives: 1) List common ID questions from PCPs that are not addressed by other topics 2) List endocarditis prophylaxis recommendations 3) Review diagnosis and treatment of latent TB infection 4) Demonstrate images of common and exotic ID conditions

The Evaluation and Care of Common Shoulder Problems

Practical Tips on the Evaluation and Management of Concussions
Objectives: 1) Recall the etiology, pathophysiology, and signs and symptoms of concussion 2) Identify risk factors that help prognosticate a greater risk of concussion symptoms lasting greater than one month 3) Utilize concussion assessment tools to assess and manage concussion 4) Determine return to learn/work and return to play recommendations

Objectives: 1) Review ankle and foot anatomy — function and exam 2) Diagnose common ankle and foot problems — overuse, degenerative, and traumatic 3) Describe common treatments for these problems 

Challenges in the Diagnosis of Upper Extremity Radicular Pain and Tingling
Objectives: 1) Describe the basic anatomy of the cervical spine and brachial plexus 2) Assess upper extremity pain and tingling with a systematic history and physical exam 3) Select physical examination and imaging tests to assist in establishing possible diagnoses, including thoracic outlet syndrome and cervical radiculopathy 4) Identify indications on when to refer these upper extremity symptoms for subspecialty care
